About

Diabetes screening with CHOW at SE Foodbank hub.

The Community Feed at Jordan-Newby is located at 961 Park Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23504 and hours of operation are 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturdays.  Saturdays are usually busy so we suggest that you park across the street at Booker T. Washington High School.

If this is your first time volunteering with the Foodbank, please create an account on Volunteer Hub (https://foodbankonline.volunteerhub.com/vv2/lp/seva).  As the date approaches, advise names of everyone who will be present so I can forward to our volunteer manager.

The expectation is to conduct diabetes screenings and provide education via workbooks.  We would appreciate any recipes you developed since the fall as well.

As far as expectations for the A1C screening, provide the number of people screened, number of people with a normal level (below 5.7%), number of people with prediabetes (between 5.7% and 6.4%), and number of people with diabetes (6.5% or higher).
