Introduction to Complex Family Planning

Thursday, November 5th, 2026 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm (ET)

About

Join us to hear from Dr. Anita Pershad, PGY-4 in Obstetrics and Gynecology and soon-to-be Fellow in Complex Family Planning, as we discuss the current landscape of Complex Family Planning including abortion training, legislative changes, and patient-centered care. This will be a relaxed, lecture-based volunteer opportunity to expand your understanding and knowledge regarding abortion care from the providers' perspective. This is also a very valuable opportunity to ask questions about OB-GYN training and fellowship options that prioritize comprehensive patient care despite legislative hurdles.

PLEASE NOTE: The discussion of abortion is central to this event, which we understand as a sensitive topic for many. Keep your own comfort in mind while deciding whether to attend, and please reach out to Eleanor Smith (esmit0099@odu.edu) or Hailey Gauck (hgauc001@odu.edu) with any concerns or questions.
